What happens to the dreams of our youth when our lives move us in a different direction?

Deepest Corners
Currently in: Pre-Production

  • Annie, a 35-year-old former dancer, plows through each day desperately wanting to be the best mother, wife and provider she can be - and she’s been successful. She’s removed dance from her life so completely that even in her dreams dance is pushed behind closed doors. When a rival from Annie’s past makes her confront her feelings, she must decide if she’ll continue to lock her dreams away or allow the deepest parts of herself to take the stage?

  • Clare Parme Miller (Writer / “Annie” ) is an actress and writer based in New York City. She values authenticity, spontaneity and play. She has a BFA in Acting from the University of Minnesota / Guthrie Theater Actor Training Program. Her theater credits include Those Who Favor Fire at the Guthrie Theater, The Sexual Lives of Savages at Walking Shadow Theater, School for Scandal at Riverside Theater, Comedy of Errors (touring production) at Idaho Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet (touring production) at Hudson Valley Shakespeare and Cry It Out with Thrown Stone Theater. Her Film/TV credits include The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and from 2018-2020, she was the voice of the Realtor.com. She’s a frequent writer for Our Bar NYC and has trained in playwriting with Primary Stages. She is a member of Actor’s Equity Association.

  • Hillary Carrigan (she/her) is a Regional-Emmy award winning Director/Editor based in New York City and known for her contributions to post-production as a 1st Assistant Editor of feature-length films (Babygirl, You Hurt My Feelings). Narrative stories including, or told through, the perspectives of girls and women are her focus. The arts, education, identity/autonomy, equality and unity are themes she strives to validate and uplift through her work.

Carrigan was a recipient of the 2022-2023 Inwood Art Works Filmmaker Fund and grantee of The Creative Heights Society for a short film she wrote and directed titled, “Nana”. She is a member of The Motion Picture Editors Guild, I.A.T.S.E. Local 700 (New York) and SAG-AFTRA.

“When I was approached by Clare Parme Miller, the dramatic possibilities that this script inspires whether it was the commonalities between athletes and parents, ballerinas and mothers, or the commonalities between dance and dream worlds, film and theater- all fascinated me. I’m so honored we get to go into production together and go deeper than we ever dreamed.

The sincerity and complexity of her characters within her writing combined with the opportunity to demonstrate the power of the arts within a family, a couple, a person really excites and challenges me. Deepest Corners touches thorny bittersweet emotions, like regret or wistfulness. It also nails the power and impact of choosing to trust yourself and follow ‘art’ wherever it leads.

  • We’re currently in pre-production, but will be in-production this Spring 2025. The most immediate, practical way to impact production is to donate or consider sponsorship. This will open doors for us in terms of literal resources (equipment rentals, fees, licenses, permits, etc) and enables us to support cast and crew instead of asking for forgiveness and favors. We have a GoFundMe page below (click, ‘Donate to Deepest Corners’) or if you’re more comfortable with Venmo or Zelle, you’re welcome to donate to Hillary Carrigan or Clare Parme Miller directly and we will transfer to the film (please note on Venmo/Zelle that it’s intended for the film).

“This is a low-budget project with high-levels of talent... If we can raise enough money to cover crucial production costs, we'll have something special. Thank you all for your interest and support so far - we’re looking forward to bringing Deepest Corners to life and every little bit helps.” xo Hillary
