Hillary Carrigan (she/they) is an American filmmaker based in New York City.
A member of The Motion Picture Editors Guild and SAG-AFTRA, she is best known for editing short films and for her contributions in post-production as an Assistant Editor of feature-length films (Babygirl, You Hurt My Feelings).
As a filmmaker, the importance and power of the arts, education, identity, and unity are all themes she strives to validate through her own work. She was a recipient of The Inwood Art Works Filmmaker Fund and winner of The Creative Heights Society grant for Nana the first short film she wrote and directed. She is set to direct Deepest Corners in 2025.
Though Carrigan utilizes non-linear editing software in her work, as a video-artist she finds hand-crafted, hands-on processes like hand-tinting celluloid, traditional cel animation, and chemical processing an exciting place to explore as she seeks to craft films that marry her passion for experimental filmmaking with her traditional, narrative technique.
